Journalism Education for Democracy in Ukraine: Developing Standards, Integrity and Professionalism

DESTIN stands for Journalism Education for Democracy in Ukraine: Developing Standards, Integrity and Professionalism.

The project aims to improve and develop Ukrainian journalism education i.e. review and reform current BA and MA programmes by raising the quality to the EU standards, improving students’ employability and international mobility, and promoting media literacy in the society.

DESTIN is co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union – Key Action 2: Cooperation for innovation and the exchange of good practices – Capacity Building in the field of Higher Education.

Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Institute of Journalism is the National DESTIN coordinator in Ukraine. This project brought together 20 European institutions, including 10 Ukrainian universities, governmental and non-governmental organizations of Ukraine, as well as universities and non-governmental organizations from the United Kingdom, Austria, Ireland, the Netherlands, Poland, and Sweden.

The main project coordinator is Bath Spa University (United Kingdom).

Project duration: 15 November 2018 – 14 November 2021.
